Comments about Chalfont St Giles during different periods of its history from the earliest days to the present.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Man first came to the Chilterns as hunter-gatherer around 100,000bc during lulls in the ice ages but they did not stay permanently until after the last glaciation about 10,000bc. The earliest evidence in the Chalfont area is some Mesolithic flints found in Crutches Wood
